Classes in Salsa

The teaching take place in Spanish stairs in building 210

  • Beginner: Monday at 19:00 - 20:30
  • Intermediate: Monday at 20:30 - 22:00

The classes are taught by Konrad Stanek (intermediate and advanced) and Sankhya Mohanty (beginners) and assisted by Silvia Saldana.

Salsa in Spanish means sauce or an aromatic spicy taste and the music/dance is like that because it is a mixture of elements from Cuban rhythmic traditions such as mambo, rumba, son and cha-cha-cha. Salsa has spread from Cuba first to the U.S. and Latin America, then worldwide.

On her journey, salsa has taken many new forms, but it is the Cuban style – stimulating, playful and above all cheerful – that our salsa classes offer. The modern Cuban salsa ranges from romantic ballads to frantic timba – in the class, the tempo will be adjusted to the level of participants.
